Mortgage Foreclosure Review Available

Florida homeowners involved in a foreclosure on their primary residence in 2009 and 2010 may be eligible for a free Independent Foreclosure Review.

Homeowners in mortgage foreclosure who qualify for this program will receive a letter in the mail by December 31, 2011 with more details. If you want your case reviewed, you
must respond to the letter no later than April 30, 2012.

Your mortgage must meet the following criteria in order to qualify for eligibility:

  • Your mortgage loan was serviced by one of the participating mortgage servicers.
  • Your mortgage loan was active in the foreclosure process between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.
  • The property was your primary residence.

This program is subject to rules of The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The reviewers will be looking for mortgage processing errors such as robo-signing, inaccurate fee charges and foreclosures that occurred while a homeowner was working on a loan modification.
